The best way to speed up your metabolism and burn fat off of your body is not what everyone tells you to do. Everyone thinks that you need to do 30 – 40 minutes of aerobic exercise at a moderate pace. They recommend doing this on a treadmill, bike, stair climber or elliptical machine anywhere from 3 to 5 times a week.

They will even go so far as to recommend to you that to really melt away fat especially belly fat that you even do these exercises 7 days a week.

Everyone recommends this because it is the common – every day answer to weight loss. In fact many people spend a ton of money on personal trainers and gym memberships to be told this and yet they are still fat.

They tell you to get your heart rate at a certain level and keep it there for 30 minutes 7 days a week and presto you will wake up skinny one day.

But there is a better way!

Of course, you will burn some calories.  Why don’t you are huffing and puffing away on a treadmill, but you will not turn your body into a fat burning machine with exercises like this alone.

Believe it or not sometimes this type of exercise can actually cause your body to store more fat as opposed to burning.

Here are the reasons why:

Longer duration exercises with the lower intensity such as these exercises really does burn upper body stored fat for energy to fuel your muscles during this time of exercise.  The only problem is that because of this your body might actually increase the amount of its stored fat that it keeps in reserve.

This type of the exercise doesn’t make your body’s cardiovascular system very efficient, however, the body requires some higher intensity cardiovascular activity to handle various stresses throughout the day.

With this in mind that this type of fat burning program includes higher intensity – shorter duration exercises mixed with lower intensity – lower duration exercises. This way you will not only lose weight fast but you will also have great cardiac health so you can handle any stress that comes your way.

The body has to be trained to handle greater stress.

The most effective and fastest way to speed up your metabolism and burn fat fast is to increase your muscle mass.  The most effective way to do this is through some type of resistance training.  Plain and simple the best way to lose weight is resistance training.  When you increase your lean muscle mass, your body turns into a fat burning machine.

As you increase your lean body mass your body burns calories at a much faster rate than what it normally did in the past.  So even if you do not decrease your daily calories consumed all that much.  You will still lose weight.  This is because the muscles require more calories for fuel than your belly fat does.

Also at the proper types of resistance training your bodies healing processes become greater in the body heals itself much more quickly than normal.  Because your body heals much more quickly, your body develops muscle quicker after your workouts.  As you recover much more quickly and heal.

The great thing is that with the proper exercise programs.  You only need to workout approximately 2 or three times a week, and the workout sessions only take about 20 to 30 minutes.

So, 20 minutes of exercise three times a week turns your body into a fat burning machine that enables you to lose weight fast.  The best thing is that these methods of weight loss are safe and very effective.
